With the introduction of Windows 10, Microsoft introduced the concept of Windows-as-a-Service (WaaS). That is when you will continuously receive updates, not just those security patches but also new feature packs released periodically with Windows 10. That means the Windows 10 shipped last year vs. the Windows 10 from this month will have significant features and functionality differences. If you have already upgraded to Windows 10, you are already on the beneficial side of this WaaS. However, the upgrade you will receive from Microsoft as a released Windows 10 is much less frequent comparing to people who have joined the Windows 10 Insider Program.

Windows 10 Insider Program is for those who lives on the bleeding edge of tech, if you wish to try out new features before they are released to the general public, then this is where you can start. Also, don’t worry if this will cause your Windows 10 to be on the edge of buggy code, you can opt out anytime when you don’t want to receive the latest feature.
