If you are tired of Windows 10’s lock screen with beautiful spotlight background images, here is a registry tweak that you can use to turn on a pretty dull console login screen.
Open Registry Editor, and navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\TestHooks
Then create a DWORD (32) Value named as ConsoleMode and set its value to 1.
The change takes effect immediately. Next time when you are in a Lock Screen or after the restart, you will see the new Console Mode login screen instead of the normal Lock Screen or Login Screen.
I have to admit, it looks dull but also pretty cool to any geeks who love the console.

This doesn’t work for me. I am sure that I have followed each step correctly.
