Windows 8 Screenshot Tour: RSS News Reader

image

RSS News Reader is one of the Metro apps developed by these Microsoft interns that comes with Windows 8 Developer Preview, the yellow rectangle tile right next to the blue Control Panel. Out of curiosity, I gave my mouse on it and found it works quite well.

It starts with Add Feeds screen on which Microsoft already featured a number of feeds for you. Remember to scroll or swipe to the right for more.

Click or tap Done once you are done the selection. Feeds are showing as the Headlines. Again, don’t forget to scroll or swipe to the right for more content.

Right-click to bring options like Add feeds, Refresh, or Remove all feeds.

Click on the tiles to read. Again, don’t forgot the Right-Click to bring the option Back.

Move your cursor to the bottom left corner to bring up the Start menu. Or you can just press keyboard shortcut Win+I to show up the Charm Setting sidebar.

Let’s add our own feed:

Looks great. There is only one thing I need to suggest thus far. It would be nice if the IE can’t be embedded in the App, as switching apps is annoying.
