Bring Back the Resizable Start Menu in Windows 10 Build 9926

The Start Menu got updated again in the latest build of Windows 10 Technical Preview, which includes a new Continuum mode aimed to help hybrid devices to have the best of both Tablet and Laptop. However, it’s also disabled the resize feature which I quite liked in the previous build. If you want to switch it back, here is how you can do it.

Launch Registry Editor (regedit from Win+R) and navigate to the following location:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

And create a new DWORD called EnableXamlStartMenu and leave the default value of 0 unchanged.

Restart your computer or Windows Explorer process and enjoy the old resizable Start Menu.

If you want to switch back to the new style, simply delete the new created registry key and restart your computer or Windows Explorer.

This is the new Start Menu with Continuum mode.
