HDD Raw Copy Tool is a free disk imaging utility that does low-level, sector-by-sector hard disk duplication and image creation. It makes an exact duplication of a hard disk, and either directly copy it onto another disk or save it as an image file.
It supports almost all interface, SATA, IDE, SCSI, SAS, USB, Firewire, you name it, whether it’s internal or external. It also recognize almost all the brands that make hard drive, from Intel, OCA, to Seagate, IBM, and Western Digital, again you name it. What about flash cards? It supports that too.
It also offers a portable tool that doesn’t need an installation process. Simply download and run.
HDD Raw Copy Tool creates a sector-by-sector copy of all areas of the hard drive, including MBR, boot records, all partitions as well as spaces in between). It doesn’t care about what the operating system is running on the disk so it could be anything, Windows, Linux, Mac, or even Android. If it detects a bad sector during the duplication process, it will just skip them.
If you prefer saving it as an image file as a backup so you can use it later on, you can choose File as the destination. The image file will be saved as a compressed image or an exact raw DD format.
HDD Raw Copy Tool can be very useful for backup, data recovery, system migration, and many other occasions. It works in almost all version of Windows, both 32-bit and 64-bit are supported as well.
However, HDD Raw Copy Tool is a windows application that runs on top of Windows. So you can’t use it to duplicate the current running Windows system. If you want to duplicate your windows system, you would have to either look for other tools or take the hard drive and put it in another system to do it.
