How To Enable Check Boxes for Selecting Multiple Items in Windows 7

3

When we select multiple items in Windows 7, we often need to hold the Shirt or Ctrl key while selecting. Wouldn’t be nice if we can select items just like what we usually do online, ticking the checkboxes? I am sure most of us are familiar with how to use a checkbox.

Well, How-To Geek just discovered this tip and explained it in great detail with a lot of screenshots.

Basically, all you need to do is to enable an option “Use check boxes to select items” in Folder Options.

And once it’s enabled, you don’t need hold down shift/ctrl key anymore for selecting multiple items. Instead, you can simply tick the box for the items you want to select. You can even tick the box at the top of the list to select all item at once in the same location.

Note that, you will have to tick the checkbox, not the item itself, for selecting multiple items.
