Minesweeper used to be one of my favorite games. I played a lot and got pretty good at it, can solve the advanced level within a minute. But that was very long time ago, way back to Windows 95/98 era. Since then, Minesweeper has been disappeared from Windows system, not in Windows 7, and certainly not in Windows 10. I quite missed it. It’s a little small game that can really exercise my brain in a way even when I am taking a break.
If you are like me wishing to find a way to get hands on this game once again, read on.
Head over to this page on Archive.org and click the Windows Executable link on the sidebar.
Then click on winmine.exe from the list that expanded to download the executable file.
Now, locate the file you just downloaded and double-click to launch it. You may be prompted with a Defender SmartScreen warning message. Click More Info and Run anyway button to continue.
Also, as you can see from the screenshot above, there are other old classic Windows Games and Apps. You can click the Torrent link to download them all and feel free to try them out. But many of them don’t seem to work on Windows 10.
