Popcorn Time is the pirate version of Netflix that lets you watch movies, TV shows without downloading them first. It streams the content through available torrents and plays them right on many supported platforms, Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, and Android. The only main platform it doesn’t support is those that run on iOS. As we all know, an app that runs stuff like this will never get approved by Apple. However, it finds a way to get around it, and you don’t have to jailbreak your iOS to get it installed.
First of all, download and install Popcorn Time iOS Installer on your Windows system.
Then, launch the installer and follow these 4 steps:
Step 1: Connect your iOS device to your computer.
Step 2: Trust this computer
Step 3: Turn on Airplane mode on your iOS device
Step 4: Done, start the app on your device before turning off Airplane mode.
The process is easy and straightforward. It ran through ok on my iPhone with iOS 8.2 but failed on iOS 8.3. So if you want to try out Popcorn Time on your iOS devices, do not upgrade to iOS 8.3. Stay with iOS 8.2.
The app runs fairly smooth on my iPhone but I probably will still stick with its desktop version as it allows to stream the content to my big TV through Chromecast. But if you have iPad, it’s definitely worth trying.
