Windows 7 introduced a number of new diagnostic tools in Control Panel, Check for performance issues is one of them. Let’s take a quick look.

To launch the new introduced Wizard that checks for performance issues, open Control Panel, and click Troubleshooting from the list first.

And then click the Check for performance issues link in System and Security section, which launches Performance wizard.

Click Next to start in Performance wizard.

The wizard then starts scanning the computer trying to find any glitches that may cause the slow performance. First, it will list a list of applications running at startup. Select anyone that you do not want to run from the list, and click Next.

Then the Wizard scans other resources detecting additional problems that may cause the performance issues. If nothing else are found, the following shows up.

Selecting either of options as you desire. Or simply click Close button to finish the wizard. You can also see the detail troubleshooting report by clicking View detailed information link.
