There are a lot of free web apps that let you send an anonymous email, which could be good or bad depending on what your purpose is, without leaving a footprint that would later trace back to you, but few offering the same kind of service as a Windows application. Assuming you are doing nothing illegal, and just want to surprise someone with something good, here is a free portable Windows application that can be handy to have.
AdminCraft Emailer, an open source project by mc-admincraft.net, is a free portable system utility that only does one thing, to keep your name off the hood when need to send an anonymous email to certain people.
The tool is extremely easy to use. Just download and run when needed. It offers a simple wizard type of user interface for you to prepare an email to send out.
Follow through the steps, you will need to enter the email address you want send to, your own name which can be a fake one as well, your own email address which can be left in blank, the title of the email, and the content of the email. A Thank-You message shows up in the end once the email has been sent.
From the email header, it does cover your ass not showing up anything that can trace back to you. So at least, it proves that AdminCraft Emailer does the job as it advertises. However, the use of an ISP server may further cause service interruption once this ISP placed a stop sign on the account.
It’s also worth noting that the delivery of this type of anonymous emails has no guarantee that it will 100% be delivered. Heck, there is no such guarantee even in a legitimate email sent with full real information attached. I used AdminCraft to send a few emails to the email addresses I own. I would say half of them ended up in the spam folder while the other half successfully made their way to my inbox.
AdminCraft Emailer is a Windows application that works on all popular windows platform, from XP, and above. Both 64-bit and 32-bit editions are supported.
