Barnes Noble released their Windows 8 app as promised earlier this week. It’s not the first Windows 8 eReader app, but sure it won’t be the last. The release of this app is also the result of Microsoft’s $300 million investment in Barnes Noble.
First Look and Feel
It’s certainly a well designed app in terms of UI guidance with other core native Windows 8 apps. It’s slick and easy to get around. When you first launch the application there is a short tutorial guides you different methods of navigating around this application with both touch and keyboards & mouse inputs.
Out of the box you are get several books in your library. Those includes different types of books, such as Magazines, Comics, Novels, Newspaper etc.
Formats
Barnes & Noble supports the standard ePub formats as well as text, PDF, HTML and eReader formats. Just like Amazon, all the books you’ve previous purchased will be available for you to download in this new Windows 8 app.
Give Nook a try if you have a Windows 8 machine you will be surprised !
