Windows 10 Quick Tip: How To Remove Live Tiles to Make A Smaller Start Menu

0

Windows 10’s Start Menu is a combination of the old and new world with the classical start menu at the left and the modern start screen on the right. While it looks good with the nice live tiles that make the whole experience vivid, it does feel quite useless especially if you are on the desktop mode most of the time. If it starts bothering you, here is how you can make it disappear.

First of all, unpin every single tile in Start. Unfortunately, there is no easy way that you can unpin all of them at once. You will have to right-click each tile and select Unpin from Start to do it.

Then, once all tiles are all cleaned out, use a mouse or trackpad to drag the right edge of Start all the way to the left.

That’s about it. Note that using your finger may not work in this case, trackpad or mouse works way better.

Also, make sure not to right-click any of the apps and choose Pin to Start. Or, the live tile section will appear again in the Start menu.
