The Settings app is Windows 10’s new Control Panel. At least, it’s trying to be with more and more Control Panel’s applet being migrated over to Settings app. And because of that, it will be used more and more by users the way how they use the Settings app on their smartphone or tablet.
Here is a fun trick that I didn’t know until lately. Not sure how much useful it will be but it’s good to know.
Now let’s see how we can reset the Settings app to restore the Settings app’s window size, position, etc. to default, just like when you clean install a brand new Windows 10 install.
Click the Start menu, right-click the Gear settings icon, go to More > App settings.
Scroll down a bit and click Reset button under Reset section.
You will be prompted by a warning saying that,
Click Reset and it’s’ done.
Looking it further, the trick actually applies to almost all Store Apps that you can install from the Microsoft Store app.
For example, the Mail’s app is acting up and needs to be reset. Right-click the Mail app from the Start menu, select App settings and click the Reset button to reset it.
