Over the last couple month there are enormous hype in email clients that were strike to redefine how we use email, specifically Gmail. Clients like mailbox and sparrow are all Gmail clients based on iPhone and Mac, it seems there are little attention in the Windows market until now. Mailbird is designed specifically for Windows, and Gmail users.
It’s a slick Gmail client with some great UI and unique tools. Mailbird is now in open beta, feel free to download and give it a try.
Very much like Sparrow for Mac’s desktop, Mailbird leverages twitter’s Mac desktop design with a list of shortcut on the very right, and a hybrid with the mobile UI on the action bar for quickly reply, mark, and delete emails.
For now this only works for Gmail, no news on support for other Emails at the moment.
If you are a keyboard shortcut guy, this mail client is going to be perfect for you. You can customize all the keyboard shortcut lists below.
Mailbird also comes with support for some of “apps” they are essentially web apps that running inside the Mailbird client. It’s a great integration for storage services like Dropbox, Google Drive for attaching external large attachments.
Mailbox is free to use, they also sell a Pro version which contains professional and advanced features, as well as the option to turn off ads and exclude Mailbird branding from signatures. The price may vary depending on your country.
